Luckily, as often recently, the sky cleared up in the afternoon, and when we got ready for our walk, the whole area was bathed in this redish/pinkish light. I forgot to take photos to show the process: I started with a very light pencil sketch then a light pink wash over the sky and water. I then added darker clouds. Island and land along the horizon and cobalt blue and violet ripples on the water.
