Char Siu marinade and additional glaze recipe (2-3pax):
-1 tablespoon of Hoisin Sauce
-1 tablespoon of Honey
-1 tablespoon of brown sugar
-2 cloves of Minced garlic
-1 teaspoon of Chinese five spice powder
-1 tablespoon of Light soy sauce
-1 tablespoon of Oyster Sauce
-1 teaspoon of sesame oil
-Red food colouring
-Sesame Seeds & green onions for garnish
-Shaoxing Wine (Chinese Wine) @ Rice Vinegar
-1 teaspoon of ginger
I use boneless chicken thighs
-2 cups of rice
-1 tablespoon of ginger
-1 1/2 teaspoon of chicken stock
-Combine all the ingredients above. Add the chicken and marinade in a ziplock bag for about 1-4 hours.
-After marinading, grill the chicken on the stove for 4-5 minutes.
-Simmer the extra glaze in a saucepan until the sauce has thickened up (stir the sauce constantly as it can burn easily)
-After grill, brush over the chicken and cook in the air fryer (180°/ 10 minutes).
-Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, slice the chicken and garnish.
-Serve it with Ginger Rice and Bok Choy or any vegetable you preferred.
