It was a really happy day for football fans because of the resumption of club football matches. I was very excited for the matches to kick off because of the international break and missing premier league football. There were a good number of matches that were played yesterday, but I will be talking about the Everton vs Liverpool derby and the Newcastle vs Man United. Everton are on a flying run this season with the number of wins they have gotten. This was the toughest game for them this season. A derby match against the premier league title holders. On like other seasons were Liverpool would be expected to get a comfortable win, it was different this time around as some expected a draw while there were some people that expected Everton to win, that is to show you how things have changed quickly.

Liverpool scored first in the game which was kind of expected, especially with the return of Mane into the Liverpool side. Mane scored the first goal for Liverpool very early in the game, in the 3rd minute. Still very early in the game, Everton equalized. Michael Keane equalized for Everton on the 19th minute. Mohammed Salah gave back Liverpool the lead in the 72nd minute. Not too long again Calvert-Lewin got his name on the scoresheet on the 81st minute with a good goal to secure a point for Everton.

Newcastle vs Man United was another good fixture and probably the last premier league fixture that was played. Manchester United haven’t yet found themselves this season and have been poor since the season began. It was a tough fixture for Manchester United against Newcastle away, so it was one of those fixture were a lot were expecting Newcastle to upset Manchester United. Even though it looked as if the match was heading to that direction when Newcastle took the first goal, it was only a matter of time before Manchester United completed sealed the game.

Newcastle took the lead very early in the game, courtesy of a Luke Shaw own goal. Manchester United equalized in the 23rd minute, all thanks to Harry Maguire. From then on, it just a matter of time, before Manchester United took the match off the reach of Newcastle United. Late goals started pouring in after Bruno Fernandes scored for Man United in the 86th minute. Wan Bissaka added his name to the scoresheet in the 90th minute, before Marcus Rashford finished the game off by adding the fourth goal in the 90+6 minutes added time. Good win for Man United.
